Help Syrian Women Rebuild Their Lives

Because of your support, 370 people have now taken part in our legal awareness program in Daraya and Gaziantep.

On July 1, the same 26 women from Group 15 returned for the final session of this cycle in Daraya, bringing this phase of Freedom Jasmine’s legal awareness activities to a close.

The session focused on the legal process for families of missing persons, as well as practical guidance for returning families on documentation, property rights, and children’s civil status.

As with so many sessions before it, the discussion did not end on time.

Participants stayed longer, asked more questions, and wanted to continue learning.

Across the full program, 370 women and men participated — including families of missing persons, wives of detainees, returnees, and displaced people rebuilding their lives after years of conflict and displacement.

And the impact does not end with the final session.

Participants also completed a final survey, and their responses will help shape a research report identifying the real legal needs of communities in post-conflict Daraya.

This report will be built from their voices, their experiences, and the challenges they told us they still face.
