On June 9, 26 women in Daraya joined the second legal awareness session of their group, this time focused on something deeply practical: how to navigate the missing-person registration process independently.
For many families in Syria, legal fees are simply unaffordable. That means even understanding a basic legal procedure can become another burden for people already facing displacement, loss, and financial hardship.
This session was designed around that reality.
Women were guided through the process step by step—what documents are needed, what procedures to follow, what rights they have, and how they can move forward without having to pay for legal assistance they may not be able to afford.
The discussion continued beyond the scheduled time, as participants raised important questions about property claims, child custody, and the legal status of women whose husbands have been missing for many years.
The strong engagement showed how urgently this knowledge is needed.
