Help Syrian Women Rebuild Their Lives

A resolution can look like little more than a number on paper—until women understand how to use it to protect their communities and strengthen their voices.

On the sixth day of the program, participants explored UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. Some entered the session with limited knowledge of the resolution. By the end, every participant understood both its meaning and its practical importance.

The session examined the commitments Resolution 1325 places on member states, its relevance to conflict-affected communities in Syria, and the ways women working in protection can use it as a framework for advocacy, participation, and accountability.

The results demonstrated remarkable progress. Participants began with a strong pre-assessment score of 81.2%, and every participant achieved full understanding in the post-assessment, reaching 100%.

This achievement represents more than improved knowledge. It reflects greater confidence among women to speak about their rights, advocate for meaningful participation, and apply international frameworks within their local work.
