Finding Your Way Back to Yourself

By Yasmina | Project Leader

On May 10, eighteen women came together in Daraya for a session centered on mental health, emotional awareness, and the quiet process of reconnecting with oneself.

For some participants, returning to Daraya meant coming back to a familiar place after years of displacement. For others, the session offered a different kind of return—a chance to notice emotions that had been pushed aside while daily life demanded strength, responsibility, and endurance.

Through movement-based activities, guided reflection, and open discussion, the women explored how emotions appear in the body, how stress shapes everyday reactions, and how greater self-awareness can create space for healthier choices.

The group included women of different ages and backgrounds. Rather than separating them, those differences deepened the conversation. Each participant brought a distinct perspective, and the exchange allowed women to learn not only from the facilitator, but also from one another.

The session did not ask women to have all the answers. It invited them to pause, listen inwardly, and begin understanding themselves with greater patience.

Your support helps create moments like these—moments where women can step away from survival mode, reconnect with their emotional needs, and remember that caring for themselves is not a luxury.

Thank you for helping women in Daraya move toward greater awareness, balance, and inner stability.

Sometimes healing begins not by moving forward, but by finding the way back to yourself.
