Looking Inward: A Different Kind of Strength

By Yasmina | Project Leader

The final gathering of this group of nineteen women took place on April 27th, bringing their learning journey to a meaningful close with a session centered on resilience, personal well-being, and self-recognition.

Throughout their lives, many participants have become accustomed to focusing on the needs of others before their own. Family responsibilities, economic pressures, displacement, and daily challenges often leave little room for reflection on personal well-being.

This session offered an opportunity to pause.

Rather than presenting self-care as something complicated or out of reach, the discussion focused on practical habits that can support emotional balance and personal resilience, even in difficult circumstances. Participants explored how small, intentional actions can contribute to greater stability, energy, and confidence over time.

A reflective exercise encouraged each woman to think about the qualities that have helped her navigate life's challenges. The room became noticeably quieter as participants considered the question.

For some, identifying personal strengths did not come easily. Yet as the activity progressed, women began recognizing characteristics they had rarely acknowledged in themselves—patience, courage, adaptability, commitment, and perseverance.

What emerged was not simply a list of positive traits, but a reminder that resilience is often built through years of facing hardship and continuing forward despite it.

By the end of the session, participants left with a deeper understanding of their own capabilities and a renewed appreciation for the strengths they carry into their daily lives.

Moments like these help transform the way individuals view themselves, creating opportunities for growth, confidence, and hope that extend far beyond a single workshop.
