Behind every participant who joins a psychosocial support session is a unique story shaped by experiences, challenges, and resilience. When those stories come together in a safe and supportive environment, something powerful begins to happen: people realize they are not alone.
On April 23, twenty-five women gathered for a psychosocial support session organized by Freedom Jasmine Organization. The participants came from different backgrounds and life experiences. Some had spent years in displacement, while others were navigating the challenges of rebuilding their lives after returning to their communities. Despite their different journeys, many shared similar feelings of stress, uncertainty, and the weight of responsibilities carried over time.
The session focused on mental health awareness and the important role emotional wellbeing plays in daily life. Together, participants explored how mental health influences relationships, parenting, decision-making, and the ability to cope with challenges. The discussion encouraged women to view emotional wellbeing not as a luxury, but as an essential part of living healthy and balanced lives.
Interactive movement activities helped create a welcoming atmosphere and encouraged participation from the beginning. As the session progressed, women became increasingly engaged in discussions, sharing perspectives, listening to one another, and finding common ground despite their different circumstances.
One of the most valuable aspects of the session was the diversity within the group. Each participant brought her own experiences and insights, enriching the conversation and creating opportunities for learning, empathy, and mutual support.
By creating spaces where women can connect, reflect, and learn together, these sessions help strengthen emotional wellbeing and foster a greater sense of community and belonging.
Thank you for making these opportunities possible. Your support helps create safe spaces where women can share their experiences, strengthen their resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and hope.
Warm regards,
Freedom Jasmine Organization (FJO)
