Dear Supporter,
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous contributions, which continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Syrian women.
Freedom Jasmine concluded the fifth and final group of its legal awareness program with 22 women eager to engage and participate. Notably, many of the participants joined through referrals from women who had attended previous sessions — a quiet but powerful reflection of the program’s growing impact within the community.
The session focused on the principles of transitional justice, emphasizing that reparations are not acts of generosity from those in power, but rights owed to people who have experienced harm. Participants explored what international law states, what Syrian law allows, and where the two intersect — or fall short.
For women navigating loss, displacement, and uncertainty, this perspective was more than informative. It was empowering. Understanding that they are entitled to justice and recognition brought many participants a renewed sense of dignity, confidence, and hope.
Individual legal consultations also remained available throughout the program, ensuring that women could access direct and safe support tailored to their personal circumstances.
Thank you for helping make these safe spaces, critical conversations, and pathways to empowerment possible.
With sincere appreciation,
Freedom Jasmine Team
