28 Women, One Shared Demand: Justice That Reaches Real Lives

By Yasmina | Project Leader

Dear Supporter,

On April 13th, twenty-eight women came together for one of the largest sessions in the program so far — a powerful reminder of how urgent the need for legal awareness and support has become among displaced communities in Syria.

The discussion focused on transitional justice and the different forms of reparations available to survivors of conflict and displacement. But this was not a theoretical conversation. Every topic connected directly to lived experiences carried by the women in the room.

Participants explored what justice could look like in practical terms: reclaiming homes and property, restoring legal identity, accessing rehabilitation and support services, receiving public acknowledgment of violations endured, and securing guarantees that future generations will not face the same suffering.

What stood out most was the level of engagement. Questions continued throughout the session, personal stories were shared openly, and many participants expressed how rarely they have access to reliable legal information that speaks directly to their reality.

To ensure every participant received the support she needed, private legal consultations were also offered to all 28 women following the session.

Your support is helping transform legal knowledge into a tool for protection, confidence, and recovery for women rebuilding their lives after years of conflict.

Thank you for making spaces like this possible.

With appreciation,
