Walaa: From Struggle to Light

Walaa, a widowed mother of two, had spent years working long hours in a supermarket just to keep her family afloat. When she joined Freedom Jasmine’s candle-making training, she saw a spark of hope — but none of us expected how brightly it would shine.

Despite her exhaustion and responsibilities at home, Walaa poured her heart into every session. Her trainer immediately recognized her natural artistic talent. She didn’t just learn the techniques — she reinvented them.

With the startup kit she received, Walaa took a brave step. She invested her own transportation allowance to purchase extra materials, packaging, and even design her own brand label. Late at night, after her children slept, she experimented with new ideas — embedding candles into artistic frames and photos, creating pieces unlike anything we had seen before.

Her breakthrough came at the exhibition: her products sold out within minutes. Parents lined up to order her unique photo-candles, and soon enough, she had more orders than she could handle.

Today, Walaa continues working at the supermarket — but now by choice, not necessity. Her small business is growing, her confidence is rising, and her children are dreaming bigger than ever. She tells them:
