Hello! I'm Shreya and I will be a GlobalGiving Japan Field Traveler in 2018! As a field traveler, I will be visiting 21 of our partner NGOs working to help communities devastated by the massive earthquakes that hit Japan in the last decade. I will be conducting more than 30 site visits and 6 training workshops over three months. During these visits, I will provide one-on-one support and fundraising tools to help ensure our non profit partners continue to work effectively and grow.
Japan has experienced many major natural disasters in the last decade - the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku and the 2016 earthquake in Kumamoto being the most damaging. While our partners are working hard to help their communities recover, global attention on this issue is rapidly declining. My role is to help them access the tools and training necessary to maximize their fundraising potential and we need donors like you to help get us there!
By investing in my field work, you are helping us support these non-profits to successfully fulfill their work and support their constituents and communities through valuable face time and training. With your help, I will be able to not only strengthen existing relations with our partner organisations but also forge new ones and help grow this amazing community of change makers.
Calamities of this magnitude require long-term recovery efforts. Providing local change makers with the right tools and resources will bring effective growth and development led by the very communities who understand their needs best. With your donations, you are giving us the chance to give these local communities the support they need to tackle the issues they face and make lasting impacts.
