This project will establish a capital investment fund to provide no-interest loans to small business ventures such as self-sustaining pig farms, buffalo / cattle ranches, or organic agricultural farms. Each business venture will be supervised by a team of advisors with specialized training to help insure long-term business success. Prospective business owners will be required and assisted in submitting a detailed business plan that will aim to repay the loan within 4 years.
Due to the many restrictions caused by COVID-19, many employment and business opportunities have vanished in rural regions of northern Thailand. Many workers who depended on the steady stream of foreign and local tourists to make a living have now been forced to look for other opportunities for businesses and employment.
This project will provide the capital funds necessary to invest in the equipment and structures required to start new businesses to meet the demands of local markets. The new business owners will be required to submit a detailed business plan (similar to the sample shown in the documents of this project) and agree to an open bookkeeping policy that will allow careful oversight from the expert advisor appointed to the business venture. The goal will be to establish a self-sustaining business.
Each business venture will be required to pay back the no-interest loan within a 4-year period. The moneys repaid to the business fund will then be available to provide another no-interest micro-business loan to another entrepreneur. These new businesses will help meet the needs of several families as well as help stimulate the economic growth of the rural villages of northern Thailand.
