The Matter of Seconds!

By Faaiz Ahmed | Project Leader

Saad worked as a salesman in a garment shop in Karachi.

On his way to work one day, he heard gun shots, hit a stone and fell down his bike. He was shot three times by unidentified people. Suddenly, everything started to fade before his eyes. All this time, he kept hoping somebody would take him to the hospital. People stopped an auto rickshaw and tried to take him to the hospital, and on their way, they spotted an Aman Ambulance and transferred him into it.

The Aman Ambulance is the only life-saving ambulance in the city, equipped with necessary medical facilities and highly trained pre-hospital care staff and a doctor as well. The doctor in the ambulance took the matter into their own hands to save the life of this young man. “I couldn't breathe, couldn't speak. One of the bullets had punctured my lungs. I had given up, I knew there was no way for me to survive. But the doctor in the #AmanAmbulance thought otherwise. He knew exactly what to do”, Saad explained, “He injected oxygen into his lungs through a syringe as my mouth was bleeding.” After this incident, he temporarily lost his voice and couldn’t speak.

Not only did Aman save his life, it has also helped throughout his recovery process. Saad claims he got better treatment in the ambulance than he would have in a hospital. “That is what saved my life. What more could anyone ask for?” he says.

Aman Ambulances have completed over 1.1M interventions to date, and with your donations, we can continue to save more lives every day.
