Aman Ambulance wins award

AMANAMBULANCE’s 1021 service, Karachi’s very own yellow ambulance, was awarded the “Asian Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Award” based on innovation, scalability, national and regional impact and community involvement. The award recognizes the contributions of Aman Health’s EMS services in delivery of and promotion of life saving services to the people of Karachi. Professor Hideharu Tanaka, Chairman of the Asian EMS Council, called AMANAMBULANCE “the leading light in the EMS sector across Asia”. Upon hearing news of the award, Mr. Ahsan Jamil, Chairman of Aman Health, remarked “We at Aman are humbled by this prestigious honor that has been bestowed upon us. We are very excited to receive this award within only five years of establishing AMANAMBULANCE.

This is the first time that a Pakistani EMS has ever received a pan-Asian award for emergency lifesaving ambulance services. Dr. Junaid Razzak, CEO, AmanHealth received this prestigious award on October 18th, in Goa, India. On the occasion Dr. Junaid said, “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our doctors, trained paramedics and all of AMANAMBULANCE’s staff’s commitment that we have received this singular accolade.”

AMANAMBULANCE’s 1021 EMS consists of a fleet of over eighty state-of-the-art advanced lifesaving ambulances, with doctors and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) on board to provide triage and comprehensive round-the-clock coverage to over 20 million people in Karachi, with emergency medical dispatch protocols based upon London and NY ambulance systems.

The only advanced lifesaving ambulance in Pakistan, AMANAMBULANCE’s 1021 EMS has achieved great success in providing emergency interventions, transforming the pre-hospital care system across Karachi. Aman Ambulances have provided over 600,000 interventions to Karachi’s underserved citizens. To maximize impact in this field, Aman has partnered with Edhi Foundation’s Ambulatory service to strengthen EMS services and provide appropriate high-quality ambulatory care across Karachi.

Aman Ambulance Success Stories (June 2014)

Thanks to donors like yourself who kept us going on the roads, the past few months have been extremely busy and hectic for the Aman Ambulance staff - whether helping mothers with their emergency deliveries, rushing to victims of bomb blasts or returning lost cash for patients - your help and support provide us the motivation to continue in the most trying circumstances. Ambulance AM 49; Incidence Date: 13 Feb 14; Incidence: Blast reported at Police Training center Razzaqabad, multiple Victims transferred (Bin Qasim Station). All victims transferred through AMAN Ambulance were safely transferred to hospitals

Ambulance AM 30; Incidence Date: 18 May 14; Incidence: Valuable life Saved (Patient revert from cardiac arrest after manual Shock and CPR) –Malir Station

Ambulance AM 12; Incidence Date: 19 May 14; Incidence: Baby Delivered in Ambulance of Bin Qasim Station

Ambulance AM 28; Incidence Date: 05 Jun 14; Incidence: Baby Delivered in Ambulance of Korangi Station

Ambulance AM 31; Incidence Date: 25 Jun 14; Incidence: Exemplary display of Honesty (AM 31 picked an infant emergency and shifted the patient to the hospital. Upon return to the station, the crew found an envelope that carried Rs. 100,000/-. The crew immediately intimated C&C and Station Supervisor and traced the infant’s father. The envelope was returned displaying an exemplary display of honesty
