As part of the Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Project of ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya, community readiness in Jomalig, Quezon was strengthened through a Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid Training conducted in partnership with Philippine Red Cross - Quezon Lucena Chapter and TV Patrol Lingkod Kapamilya. The initiative aimed to equip local stakeholders with practical skills in responding to emergencies and disasters.
The activity was especially significant as Jomalig was among the areas heavily affected by Super Typhoon Uwan last year. A total of 80 participants took part in the training, including local government personnel, local tourism service providers, community frontliners, Barangay Health Workers, and members of local cooperatives.
To further support preparedness efforts, go bags containing essential emergency supplies were also distributed. This initiative reinforces the community’s capacity to respond effectively and safely in times of crisis.
Every step toward preparedness helps save lives. With ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya, we continue strengthening resilience and safety for everyone.
