Project Report:
Providing School Fees for Vulnerable Junior Secondary School Students in Piweyi Community, Abuja, Nigeria.
Summary
The Fageli Good Health Advocacy and Lifestyle Foundation successfully implemented a school fee support project for vulnerable students in Piweyi Community, Abuja, Nigeria. Through the generous support of donors, the Foundation provided school fees for 15 Junior Secondary School students from low-income families who were at risk of dropping out due to financial hardship.
This intervention ensured that the beneficiaries remained enrolled in school and continued their education without interruption. The project also brought hope to the students and relieved the financial burden on their parents and guardians.
Challenge
In Piweyi Community, many families struggle to meet their children's educational expenses because of poverty and unemployment. As a result, some students miss classes, are sent home for unpaid school fees, or drop out completely. These challenges limit their opportunities for academic success and future employment.
Education is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty, yet many vulnerable children continue to face barriers to accessing quality education.
Solution
To address this challenge, Fageli Good Health Advocacy and Lifestyle Foundation identified vulnerable Junior Secondary School students through community engagement and needs assessment. The Foundation provided school fee support for 15 students, enabling them to return to school and continue their studies.
Parents and guardians were also encouraged to support their children's education and ensure regular school attendance.
Results
The project achieved the following outcomes:
School fees were paid for 15 vulnerable Junior Secondary School students.
All beneficiaries remained enrolled in school.
Parents and guardians experienced reduced financial stress.
Students regained confidence and motivation to continue their education.
The project strengthened community trust in the Foundation's commitment to improving children's lives through education.
Impact
The school fee support has created an immediate and meaningful impact by ensuring that vulnerable students continue their education. Beyond the financial assistance, the project restored hope, encouraged regular school attendance, and contributed to building a stronger foundation for the students' future.
By investing in education, the Foundation is helping to reduce school dropout rates and promote long-term community development.
Looking Ahead
Many more children in Piweyi Community still require educational support. Fageli Good Health Advocacy and Lifestyle Foundation remains committed to expanding this initiative so that more vulnerable students can stay in school and achieve their dreams.
Continued support from GlobalGiving donors will enable the Foundation to reach more children, reduce educational inequality, and empower families through access to education.
Appreciation
Fageli Good Health Advocacy and Lifestyle Foundation sincerely thanks GlobalGiving donors and partners for their generosity and commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children. Your support is giving young people the opportunity to remain in school, pursue their education, and build brighter futures.
