Project Report GBV July 2026

By Shristi Poudel | Senior Manager

The Women Welfare Foundation is pleased to share the continued progress of our project “Help Nepali Girls Fight Early Marriage and GBV” during the second quarter of 2026 (April–June).
In the past three months, we have directly reached over 180 people and indirectly influenced more than 300 community members through targeted awareness activities. Our efforts have strengthened community understanding of the harmful impacts of early marriage and gender-based violence (GBV), while encouraging collective action to protect girls’ rights.
Community Follow-up Sessions: We conducted two small-group follow-up meetings with parents and youth who attended the dramas, focusing on practical steps to prevent early marriage and respond to GBV cases.
These initiatives have visibly increased community dialogue around girls’ rights. Many parents have expressed greater willingness to prioritize their daughters’ education and delay marriage, while local leaders have shown stronger support for enforcement of existing laws.
Cumulative Reach (up to June 2026):
  • Direct beneficiaries: over 280 people
  • Indirect reach: more than 1,500 people
The Women Welfare Foundation remains fully committed to ending early marriage and gender-based violence through sustained awareness, community mobilization, and empowerment of girls. With the generous support of our donors and partners, we are steadily building a safer and more equitable environment for Nepali girls.
We sincerely thank our dedicated volunteers, community leaders, radio partners, and supporters for making this progress possible. We look forward to expanding these efforts in the coming months with even greater impact.
