Help Nepali Girls Fight Against Early Marriage and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is a bold initiative of the Women Welfare Foundation, designed to protect, empower, and uplift vulnerable girls in rural Nepal. The project provides life-changing support through community awareness sessions, safe-space leadership circles, support resources for victims, gender-based violence education, digital and financial literacy training, and direct mentorship for girls at risk of child marriage and abuse.
In rural Nepal, girls face high risks of early marriage and gender-based violence due to poverty, limited education, and harmful social norms. Many girls are pulled out of school before age 15 and lack access to safety information or support services. This project targets vulnerable girls in underserved communities who are most at risk and have the least protection or educational opportunities.
The project provides girls with GBV and early-marriage prevention education, safe-space workshops, leadership circles, and mentorship. We also train teachers, parents, and community leaders to recognize risks and support girls' rights. By combining direct empowerment with community awareness, the project builds protective environments that keep girls safe and in school.
By equipping girls with knowledge, confidence, and support systems, the project will reduce early marriage and GBV in target communities and strengthen girls' ability to stay in school and pursue opportunities. Over time, hundreds of girls will benefit from improved safety, increased autonomy, and stronger pathways to education and economic independence.
