A Heartfelt Update to Our Dedicated Supporters
We are excited to bring you the second official progress report from Angwantaki! Your continued support is turning a vision into a vibrant reality. Since our last report, the initial excitement at the school has evolved into a steady rhythm of achievement. With classrooms undergoing daily transformations, both our students and staff are filled with a sense of pride and renewed hope.
Major Progress Milestones
The physical environment of our school has seen a total transformation this month, ensuring our students have a dignified and inspiring place to learn:
1. Academic Excellence: Our three dedicated teachers have moved beyond the introductory phase and are now deeply engaged in the government approved curriculum.
Structured Learning: Lessons are now in full swing for Primary 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Student Assessment: Our teachers have begun tracking individual student progress, ensuring that even those who have been out of school for some time are receiving the foundational support they need to catch up.
2. Two Classrooms Fully Renovated: The structural finalization of our first block of classrooms is complete:
Freshly Painted: Following the work of our local artisans, two classrooms have been fully painted, creating a bright and welcoming environment.
Ceiling Restoration: The old, damaged materials in these rooms have been fully replaced, providing a safe and well-ventilated space for daily lessons.
3. Growing Enrollment: Our impact is growing! We are currently providing quality education to 119 students across our four primary levels. We are particularly proud of our balanced enrollment:
68 Boys
51 Girls
4. Uniforms and Bags: We believe that providing the right tools encourages a sense of belonging and pride:
Uniforms: The first 100 school uniforms are almost ready! We look forward to a distribution day very soon where our students will officially wear their school uniforms.
New School Bags: We are also producing 100 school bags to ensure students can safely transport their books and materials.
Next Steps
As our enrollment grows, so does our need for infrastructure. While we celebrate the completion of these first two rooms, the reality is that we are quickly outgrowing our current space:
Need for More Classrooms: With 119 students already enrolled and a target of 800, our biggest priority is now renovating additional classrooms and providing chairs and desks. With more children arriving at our doors every day, our next challenge is transforming additional classrooms so that no student in Angwantaki is left behind.
Uniform & Bag Distribution: We are planning a celebration for the day the children receive their new gear, stay tuned for those photos!
Scalable Growth: Our focus is now on raising the funds necessary to bring the rest of the school building up to the high standard of our first two finished rooms.
Every brushstroke on our walls and every lesson taught is a direct result of your generosity. You aren't just building a school; you are building a future for the children of Angwantaki.
Thank you for standing with us!
