Preparation for the ground floor slab of the IoT Boys’ Dormitory is currently underway at the main campus. This phase includes the ongoing procurement of essential construction materials and tools. We sincerely appreciate your generous support, which has enabled us to gradually acquire these resources. We remain optimistic that once all required materials and tools are in place, the ground slab will be completed without delay.

The dormitory is designed to accommodate 120 boarding students and is situated within the IoT main campus. Due to limited land availability, the facility is being developed as a two-storey structure comprising 20 cubicles, each designed to house six students.

The project encompasses all necessary components to ensure the facility is fully functional. This includes the construction of the main building, installation of bathrooms and sanitation facilities, and provision of appropriate furniture and equipment.

In line with the community’s environmental sustainability policies, the project incorporates eco-friendly solutions such as a solar-powered electricity system with storage capability, as well as guttering and water tanks for rainwater harvesting. Additionally, the design integrates safety measures to minimize fire risks and ensure safe and efficient evacuation in case of emergencies.

Implementation of the project is being carried out by GMCDG, leveraging its proven track record in successfully completing infrastructure projects within the IoT campus. Notably, IoT staff and students are actively involved in the construction process, including the fabrication of furniture such as bunk beds, tables, and windows. This hands-on involvement provides students with valuable practical experience while also offering them a source of income.

The dormitory is expected to be completed and ready for use within one year from the commencement of construction.
