As the year begins, we look at the past achievements of the project in terms of the number of students that were fully sponsored and are attaining good grades. Through the project, about 150 households benefited from tree seedlings, planting materials, energy saving jikos and demonstration on installation of the jikos. 25 pupils benefited from full sponsorship.
In the year 2012, we believe more pupils will get support in school fees, uniforms and for other basic needs. We shall continue with capacity building of the households in areas of farm management and animal husbandry, because it is through the income they get from their farm produce that they utilize to pay school fees and buy uniforms.
We thank our donors and wish them a bountiful 2012, full of blessings.
The project is ongoing, during the third semester, school fees for 20 orphans was paid to the school, and they have no arrears, Report from Children’s garden home shows that the orphans admitted there are doing very well academically and health wise. 50 households of vulnerable orphans have been supported with 100 tree seedlings each to plant within their farms and this will form their woodlots to ensure they have wood fuel close to their homes, and in future they ca earn income from the sale of timber, that will help to cater for other basic needs ,they were also supported with 100 energy saving stoves (jikos) which are more economical when it comes to wood fuel. We appreciate our donors for being a part of this success.
There has been a number of initiatives taken towards realizing the project. 10 orphans have been sponsored to study at children's garden home which is located on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. The orphans will be accommodated within the institution and all there needs catered for, they will also participate in the 4k club school garden to get hands-on skills on farming, and have positive values on food and agriculture. 5 households of very vulnerable orphans were supported with 5 hens and 1 rooster, which they will rear and this will go along way in providing for their protein needs, and in future they could sell eggs and live chicken to earn income for buying other basic commodities. We thank our donors for their continued support.
The project has benefited 10 children who have been supported with school fees and school uniforms. The guardians have been facilitated in establishing small kitchen gardens to ensure food and nutrition security for the households, we look forward to receiving more funds which will enable us to cater for more children. We thank our donors for their continued support.
The project has commenced with 5 children having been bought full school uniforms, 2 have their one year school fees already paid, while for the other 3, two semesters school fees has been paid.
We wish to thank all our donors for their kindness towards this cause, and we are looking forward to educate as many children as possible, for a prosperous future.
