Help Educate 330 Mukinyai School Orphans, Kenya

Beneficiaries in this program are fine and safe, all students in their respective schools are progressing on well. They had a very short holiday in August and they reported back for another school term from end August to October 2021. Although there was no time to interact with them during the short break, we have been in touch with their respective schools where we have been informed of their progress. They are all preparing for their final exams in March 2022 where they will graduate from secondary schools. We are very happy to see them through the process and supporting them in their secondary education. We always count on you in every success we achieve for you have made the idea realistic. On behalf of our beneficiaries, please accept our sincere gratitude from bottom of our hearts. The school calendar was disrupted by the pandemic and students are now on crush program to ensure they cover the time lost last year when all institutions were closed as a result of the pandemic. This year students will go for 4 terms instead of 3 like it has been all through thus reducing the number of days for the holidays. Students are not very happy with this crush program since they don’t have much time at home during the holidays but to the parents it’s an advantage on one hand and disadvantage on the other hand. The advantage is that students are busy with their studies and have very little time to engage in other bad virtues which definitely affect their performance. The disadvantage is that parents have to pay school fees 4 terms in a year unlike before where they used to pay for 3 terms and the gap between one term and another is too close thus making them run marathon in sourcing school fees. All in all we are happy that learning is taking place and our students are safe and healthy. In the recent past we have been receiving many requests to consider supporting increasing number of vulnerable students. At the moment we can’t promise any support as fundraising has been very challenging and we will definitely consider them when we are in a position. It is our humble request to our good friends and well-wishers to chip in and extend their generosity by donating to our project so that we can continue supporting needy children in their education and especially the orphans.

Our beneficiaries in the project are fine and safe. They have all reported back to school after the April holiday. We are happy to report that all our beneficiaries have reported back to school and we have paid their school fees for this school term. We wish them success and safety throughout the term. They visited our office during the holiday and they presented their performance report forms and we appreciate their dedication and hard work. The performance were fair and we encouraged them to work even harder for more pleasing results. During their visit to our office, they shared different challenges they go through and some of them contribute to their performance. We had a session with them mainly providing guiding and counseling and encouragement to ensure they remain positive and focus more on their education. We addressed some of the challenges that we could like providing sanitary towels to the girls who said it has been hectic to get them from their parents/guardians and this was a headache to them. We will be providing sanitary towels to them to ensure they have them whenever they need them. Parents and guardians are faced with more challenges which they address treating provision of sanitary towels to their girls as non-essential or basic need. We fully understand their situation and especially during this pandemic where their source of income are very much affected. In our capacity we will be supporting our beneficiaries with some of basic needs apart from paying their school fees. Help Educate 330 Mukinyai School Orphans, Kenya

The year 2020 is a history we will live to tell as a result of the deadly diseases in the whole world which changed living styles of many people in the world. In the history in Kenya learning institutions have never been closed for that long period. Our learning institutions were closed in mid-March 2020 and normal learning resumed January 2021. The period was extremely long and many challenges as earlier reported were noticed and unfortunately there were any negative things that took place during the entire period. We are happy that finally students and pupils are now back to school and we wish them safety and all the best in their studies. Our beneficiaries in the project have reported and they are progressing on well. We managed to pay school fees for this term to all of them and we hope we will get more support to cater for their school fees for the whole year. Most parents lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic hence no money to meet most of their families’ needs including school fees for their children. We have been receiving so many applications from needy students to include them in the program but due to limited resources we cannot accommodate them and we reject their applications. We intend to do more fundraising this year to mobilize more resources and if successful we will consider the most vulnerable households. I take this opportunity to request for your support this year so that we can extend the support to the needy students who are seeking our support towards their education. We appreciate all support channeled to us through GlobalGiving platform which has enabled us to pay school fees for the vulnerable students from Mukinyai for a couple of years and we have supported students until they graduate from secondary school and advance to university.
