Thanks to all those who make this dream of working with and for the children of the community of the CSU possible!
The educational project of the CSU is embedded in the School of the Art of Loving, a teaching program, complementary to formal education, which offers pedagogical and therapeutic elements in favor of personal improvement and community building. All the activities are oriented so that the children understand that Love is communion, beauty, health and unites us as a community. The purpose of this program is to train in responsibility and mutual respect.
Instructors, who are people from the community, receive weekly training and are offered tools to accompany the children in their formative process.
All the activities of the School of the Art of Loving contribute to the personal growth of the children, instilling values that allow them to recognize themselves and others, to be more resilient and to be protagonists of their own history.
This semester we have worked on the values of fraternity, friendship, respect, service, freedom, and care for nature...where through playful activities we deepen each value.
In the commitment to take care of our planet, we have held workshops on planting and care of nature, taught by experts, and we continue to maintain the vegetable garden that began at the beginning of the year at the CSU.
Synergies have been created with other organizations. Using the 6X1 methodology and involving the CSU community, we were able to learn about the neighborhood's priorities, environmental noise was identified as one of the biggest problems affecting them, and workshops have been held to improve this situation.
The IDEAS THAT MAKE ECO project was started, it has been an intergenerational work with different associations, to train children and parents in ecology, we found that love is universal and when we unite for noble causes no matter the beliefs or the problems that may arise along the way.
The workshops were: 1. training in recycling, waste management and responsible consumption, 2. collection and collection of recyclable material and 3. training in the production of notebooks. 4.
The CSU seeks to be a safe place where the children feel listened to, loved and in family, since they live strong and painful conditions within the families and community.
The children attend the CSU every day, where they receive snacks.
