Dear Supporters,
We already told you about the friendship between children and the assistance dogs that achieves incredible results. The changes that assistance dogs make possible for children and young people with developmental disabilities are priceless. And that's why they are our superheroes!
Although we would like to tell you only about the beautiful things, the difficult ones are inevitable. One of our superheroes – the assistance dog Fredi – is suffering from a serious bone tumor disease, and his life is in danger. Fredi is over nine years old and his working life as an assistance dog is almost over, so he is ready for retirement.
This difficult diagnosis of osteosarcoma of the rear left leg, which was recently diagnosed, shocked both the twin brothers Leon and Renato, to whom Fredi was a great help and support for years, as well as us in the Association.
We are happiest when our assistance dogs retire and continue their carefree lives as pets. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, so now brothers Leon and Renato, each with physical disabilities caused by cerebral palsy, urgently need a new assistance dog!
So, it is important to provide a new assistance dog for brothers to continue improving the quality of their lives. With Fredi, they have achieved significant progress from early childhood until today - they learned to speak and walk, and now they can more independently perform their student duties, and go out with friends.
Also, Leon has a greater need for this future assistance dog - trained to bring/retrieve items, turn lights on/off, open/close doors and drawers, and perform other tasks to assist with daily life.
With your help, we can provide the brothers Leon and Renato with a new assistance dog, without which their daily life would be very difficult. Thank you for the urgent support!
