Seasons Greetings from Santepheap!

On behalf of all of our children at CCHP, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, thank you for your kindness in 2013 and wish you all the best for the New Year 2013 was a happy year at CCHP. It has been very rewarding, watching our children develop into adults.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • All of our children passed their end of year exams so could join the higher grade in August
  • Srey Roth came top of the class in her University entrance exams, and decided to leave our campus to start work, while continuing her studies.
  • 3 of our youths were successful in their application to a prestigious, local culinary college, which they joined in September.
  • We were able to complete some much-needed improvements to our home, such as sinks for the kitchen and an indoor classroom for the monsoon season.
  • Our children enjoyed a field trip to Battambang in September, visiting local pagodas and climbing Koh Teh Mountain.
  • Two of our volunteers (Georgie & Ian) set up New Leaf Book Cafe, that will provide ongoing financial support to our school.

We would like to thank you for your support in 2013!

Given the success we had in 2013, we have only a relatively modest wish list for Christmas and the coming year:

  • We are hoping to join a local football league that is being organized for local NGOs. One of our girls (Srey Mom) is the captain of hEr school team and will be joined by all the 14 boys, who are very enthusiastic to play.  We will need to buy them sports kits, costing a total of $210
  • The roof for our bike shed is in urgent need of repair. We would like to replace the entire roof, to prevent damage to our bikes in the rainy season. This will cost $234.
  • Each Sunday, our children perform the traditional Apsara dance. After this they enjoy break-dancing and practicing their moves. Unfortunately the stereo no longer works and needs to be replaced.

Thank you again for your support!
