The first semester of 2019 has officially started and the students have reported. We had few students who were continuing and all the rest were going for a three months attatchement. The recruitment of new students is going on and we have 15 new students who have started their first year studies.
Last year (2018) we had 20 students who had their tests and their results will be coming out on 20th February. They will have their certificates and proceed on to another level and try to get employment. We are very proud of our students, we have not had failures and most of them have been employed and others are self empolyed. It is also good because some have decided to proceed on with their studies and we cant wait to see them specializing in different fields.
Most of the youths in our trade school are sponsored and they are from needy families, others were orphaned and didnt have an opportunity to continue with their studies. As we build the trade school we are also looking forward to reaching out to more youths in the community. This project has been slow and we are continuing to share with friends to see that the project becomes active and reach out to more.

We have had a wonderful time during this semester! Your students have been working hard for the exams both practical and theory. Most of the second years successfully completed their attachments and they are ready for their exams.
The first years have already closed for the holidays and will coming back for their last session next year. Let’s feature this successful boy (name withheld) who’s life has changed dramatically in the last 13 years. This precious boy came to us at a tender age of five years, he was rescued from the streets, he was very innocent and he didn’t know anything on how to survive on the streets. He was therefor rescued and eventually brought to us. He was so wild and couldn’t cope with others, he could only ask for more to eat and snatch from the others if denied. After one year he was a changed boy who ate enough and started being nice to others. This boy went through primary school , he was a slow learner but tried his best. He finished his national exams and had 160 marks out of 500.
Because he liked looking after cows I thought after primary school I will train him on how to be a good dairy farmer and have him work for the institution and we talked about it, I felt he was at peace at that particular time.
When the time came for the other students to join high school, as usual I have to shop for them since they have to stay at school. This boy saw all the happiness and the shopping and he sent someone to me asking when he will be joining high school. I had no answer because we had talked and agreed but I didn’t want to kill his personality. I knew he would not perform well in high school and there was no need for him to just go because it is not free. I therefor decided to have a meeting with him and I asked him what else he could do apart from farming. He said he could make tables and build, to me this was a great answer. I shared with him about our trade school and after that we went for shopping! He had everything he needed because he was staying at the school.
This boy has successfully finished his first year and he will be going for his second-year next semester. He is so happy and looking forward to finishing his studies and starting his life. He will be 18 years old on 25th December 2018!
This wouldn’t be happening without your support! YOUR COMMITMENT and generosity has changed this boy’s life forever! He will never be the same. YOU have walked with him and we can all smile because we have seen the fruits of our commitment.
We have many children just life this boy, together we can change their lives, one at a time. YOU have caused this to happen, I know you have friends, family friends, groups who are willing to make a difference. SHARE WITH THEM WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THIS BOY!
Lets build our family and together we can make a difference and change the world for better!
We have 23 students who have gone through the second semester and it has been a wonderful experience throughout the semester since some of them had come from their job attachments. It was good to see what they learned from the attachments and not only being told but practically.
Most of the students had changed on behaviour, dressing and even on how they conducted themselves. They presented themselves as people who are already in a working field. Their character had changed and they did everything under minimum supervision.
Our students are ready for work and as they prepare for their exams next month they have already shown a positive sign of doing well.
It is a second semester of 2018 and all the students are back to school. During the school holidays many of the students were at home helping their parents and we had one week of activities at the school. They helped planting of trees and in the gardens. They also opportunity to paly soccer as it is the main sport in schools.
The second year students have completed their three months attachments and they are back for this semester to prepare for their exams in September. We have completed building the twin workshop and one of them has been converted into a dormitory for girls. This will be used for one year as we fundraise for a dormitory.
We thank you for your support and it is our prayer that you will continue to share with friends about the good work you are doing in the lives of the needy. The trade school project is helping the orphaned and poor youth who have no hope. Most of them had lost hope but you have given them another chance in life. This is not only helping the youths but it is helping the entire community especially on security purposes. We have many youths who need sponsorship to enable them continue with their education in getting skills, consider sharing with others about this noble cause.
The last three years have been very successfull and we have been able to see more than 30 students graduate from the trade school. We have been offering Automotive Mechanic course, Building and Construction course and Dressmaking Tailoring course. Within the Building and contruction students are able to learn carpentry, plumbing and electification.
Many girls who are talented in hairdressing have not been able to get an opportunity at our school since we didnt have the facilities and equipment to offer the course. This year we have introduced the hairdressing course which has seen many girls join the trade school. We have students who had enrolled in dressmaking and have changed to hairdressing since it is their passion.
Currently we have 23 students who are out for attachment and we have 20 new admissions. We are proud to say that our school is the best in practical exams and we are looking forward to becoming a centre for exams this year. This will also give us an opportunity to upgrade to technical school where we can offer more courses and have more students.
We are also putting up a production department and we have put in place a knitting machine which we are hoping to start very soon working on the school cardigans. We are working hard to make the centre to be sustain itself through the production unit. It is our humble prayer that you will continue to support the construction of the workshops and equiping the school with the needed equipments to enable us achieve this goal. Sponsoring an needy youth is also going on and we welcome your support towards the needy and orphaned youths by giving them a second chance.
It is because of you all that the Vocational Training Centre is where it is. We continue to encourage you to share with friends and families about this cause and lets teach our youths how to fish.
