Two of our exemplary GlobalGiving students, Susan and Eveline, went on an unforgettable trip with their classmates to the Serengeti National Park. While many students in Tanzania live relatively close to one of its sixteen national parks, few actually have the resources to take advantage of visiting them. The Serengeti's western border is approximately one to two day's travel by bus from Bukoba.
The school that Susan and Eveline attend, Karume Day and Boarding English Medium Primary School, Bukoba, organized a trip. The GLK Student Fund paid the extra fee for the trip ($85 each) and sent the girls on this trip of a lifetime to the Serengeti. They made the long journey with their classmates and teachers on a school bus. On the trip, they not only got to see the park and its magnificient wildlife and scenery, but also enjoyed some of the local sites along the way as well.
Because of your generosity, these two young women were able to attend a respected school that had the capability of showing them some of their countries greatest highlights. This is an experience that we feel all Tanzanian students should have. Thank you for supporting our GlobalGiving students in their quest for an education and a bright future.
