Dear supporters,
At Teach For Bulgaria, we started the new school year with a great dose of excitement. At the beginning of the year, we went through a strategic planning process so we can make sure that our work responds to the most urgent needs of the education system. As a result, we decided to focus our efforts on developing the Model schools program. We believe that the model and the program's potential for impact will bring the positive change we want to see in the education system in Bulgaria. Your support is precious for the success of our mission - thank you for trusting us with your donations.
In August, we organized the first in-person training session for the new cohort of the Model Schools program. The main focus was the exploration of the concept of teaching with a student-center approach.
During this summer training, teachers and principals went through learning through experience. They visited different locations in Tryavna, a city that is strongly linked to the history of Bulgarian education. In addition to learning about the student-center approach, the participants got familiar with the goals and tools of the Model Schools program, collected and analyzed data from students and set goals and vision for their respective schools, and had time to build relations of trust with the other schools in the program.
We can not wait to see their progress on the goals set and follow the development of the leadership and pedagogy practices in the schools.
Thank you for making possible the change toward quality education for every child!
With gratitude,
TFB team
Dear supporters,
The summer approaches and as usual, this is a very intensive season for Teach For Bulgaria’s team - time for planning and training for the upcoming school year. We are very excited to share the latest news about our Model Schools program.
The first cohort of 20 schools graduated from the Model School program at the beginning of the month. Over 200 educators - directors and teachers gathered in Veliko Tarnovo for a ceremony to celebrate the end of their participation in the program. The first cohort of Model Schools participants will continue to be part of our community and act as ambassadors of the program among other schools in Bulgaria.
One class graduates and another one is ready to start. In May, we selected the new 25 schools to join the Model Schools program for the next 2 years. Among them, we have 16 new partners - schools that have never participated in our programs or training. For the first time in this program, we have partner schools from Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, and Gabrovo regions. Their first training session will take place in August when they will learn more about the student-centered approach in the classroom. We are happy to welcome them into our community and look forward to working with them for the success of every child.
Model Schools could not expand and reach new students without your support. We are very grateful to have you as a partner! To achieve our goal - improve 10% of the public schools in Bulgaria - we need more supporters. Help us reach out to them: spread the word about our work and invite your connections to join the campaign.
With gratitude,
Teach For Bulgaria’s team
