This project will support 250 teenage mothers in Ghana to return to school and continue their education. Adjah Cancer Support Ghana will help address barriers such as school supplies, uniforms, learning materials, and other education-related costs, working with families, schools, and community partners to help young mothers pursue their education and build better futures for themselves and their children.
Teenage mothers may leave school because of pregnancy, childcare responsibilities, financial hardship, stigma, and limited family support. Without opportunities to continue their education, many face reduced employment prospects and greater economic vulnerability, affecting both their own futures and the well-being of their children.
The project will identify teenage mothers who wish to resume their education and work with schools, families, and community partners to support their return. Assistance may include school supplies, uniforms, learning materials, education-related costs, and guidance to help participants balance schooling with parenting responsibilities.
Supporting teenage mothers to continue their education can improve their opportunities for employment, financial independence, and personal development. The project aims to help young mothers complete their education, strengthen their ability to support their children, and reduce barriers that prevent young parents from participating in school.
