Help 250 kids in Uruguay

This February, like every year, we have begun the adaptation period. The adaptation was either for families and for the team and children, where we created moments for the exchange of ideas and accompaniment.

During this period, we did different flexible pedagogical proposals, which allow and enable transit through the different spaces, being able to investigate their interests, accompany and contain.

Once the initiation time was over, work projects were carried out according to the interests raised by the boys and girls and what is intended to be stimulated by the teaching team.

One of the chosen work modalities is the realization of pedagogical camps. Depending on the interests of the boys and girls, the rooms have been converted into craft workshops, painting ateliers, veterinarians or ice cream parlors. These proposals are always adapted according to the characteristics of the age, having the possibility of choosing different alternatives according to their interests.

Also part of the project are the Opportunity Experiences workshops, where families and babies from 0 to 24 months are cared for, a space where sensorimotor play time is planned, an instance of reflection and exchange of experiences and knowledge, and a space for food provided by the center.

Dear friends,

We closed 2022 with full music!!! In Paso de la Arena, in the Julia Arévalo amphitheater, we had the show of La Cocoa. The weather was nice and the children and their families were able to sing and dance with the CAIF team. Then they were given the folders and some little gifts to enjoy their vacations.

In Maroñas we invited Marquisio and his band to play at CAIF. Another beautiful afternoon of music and delicious things to eat and share with families.

In December, while we were saying goodbye to the children who graduated, the inscriptions and the lists for 2023 were made. A difficult task, since the demand always exceeds the number of places and we have to choose, while we know that all the families need the resource.  Fortunately, in 2023 a new room will be built in Paso de la Arena, which will allow us to attend to children from 12 to 24 months 8 hours a day, meeting the great demand for this resource from the population.

In the meantime, the Association took advantage of the January recess to visit the colleagues of Mensajeros de la Paz Argentina, to know mutual projects and exchange experiences. It was a very interesting visit that provided us with tools to improve management and generate resources to create or expand projects.
