Flooding in market areas across Ghana often destroys shops, goods, and sources of income for small traders and vulnerable families. Many traders lose their products and business capital during floods and struggle to restart their livelihoods afterward. This project will provide emergency relief, business recovery support, and livelihood assistance for 200 traders affected by market floods.
Heavy rains and poor drainage systems frequently cause flooding in busy market centers, damaging goods, stalls, and business equipment. Many small traders rely on daily sales to support their families and do not have savings or insurance to recover after disasters. Without assistance, affected traders face severe financial hardship and loss of income.
This project will provide emergency relief support, business recovery assistance, replacement supplies, and small livelihood grants for traders affected by market floods. The project will also support vulnerable traders with basic recovery materials and education on disaster preparedness and business protection measures.
This project will help 200 traders rebuild their businesses, restore income, and recover financially after flood disasters. It will strengthen economic resilience for vulnerable market women and traders while helping affected families regain stability and livelihoods.
