Lessons and rehearsals are paused for summer break, a perfect chance to reflect on the past year!
In September 2023, the doors of our new permanent home in Nicosia opened to welcome 80 new children. A second-string orchestra in Nicosia became a reality, with children who were patiently waiting to join for the past 4 years!
Older children from our Intermediate Orchestra graciously offered their help to our newcomers, joining and helping their teachers in lessons and rehearsals. They were never asked to do that, and it caught us by surprise! With their actions they confirmed that we are indeed one big family!

Summer is almost over, which means it is time for the start of a new academic year!
For us, this year will be special, since we will be in our own space, welcoming eighty new children to our brand-new 2nd Strings and Percussions Orchestra in Nicosia. This is big news people!
Since the launch of our socio-musical programme, we have had children on the waiting list, waiting for their turn to join our programme and grab an instrument in their hands!
In the past few months, we have been collecting used musical instruments from people in Cyprus, who have donated them to us with so much love! Their support was overwhelmingly loving.
Along with the help of our sponsors who never leave our side, we are proud to say our hug is growing bigger, and we are growing double in size!

Hello everyone!
We have had a busy 2022 so far, so here are some news:
We can finally share with the world the news- Sistema Cyprus is getting its own home in Nicosia AND a second orchestra!
We are hoping to move into the new premises in May 2022. We will also welcome 50 more children into our musical family in September 2022 by creating a second strings orchestra at our Nicosia nucleo.
In March, our young musicians had the chance to perform alongside professional musicians for a unique concert. The concert was called 'Let the Children Dream' and that was the message we wanted to spread, that through these hard times we should always remember that children are the future, and dreaming is the most powerful empowerment tool for their development.
We are extremely proud to share that four of our young musicians had the honor to participate in ODE – Orchestre Démos Europe initiative, a collaboration between the Sistema Europe Association (which Sistema Cyprus is a member of) and ODE. This took place in the last week of February 2022 at the Philharmonie de Paris.
The project involved young instrumentalists from 15 Sistema Europe programs, meeting their peers to form a unique 120-member youth orchestra of socially oriented projects from all EU countries.
They performed on Saturday, 26 February 2022 at the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez at the occasion of France’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. You can watch the concert here: https://live.philharmoniedeparis.fr/concert/1136183/
