In Eswatini half the population is under the age of 21 & 60% of people live in poverty. After centuries of peace, civil unrest erupted there in July 2021. Youth unemployment is a giant problem that urgently needs to be addressed. The economic crisis resulting from COVID has worsened the situation. This project will help 1000 youth in Eswatini to start businesses. We encourage a culture of entrepreneurship & learning by doing. This will directly reduce youth unemployment & create more jobs. It will provide hope and opportunities for youth which will reduce conflict and protest. It will also create a culture of seeking opportunities for enterprise which will reduce poverty. This will in turn create greater prosperity and socio-economic wellbeing.
The long term impact should be sustainably improved youth employment, greater peace and political stability and improved economic prosperity. Greater gender equality should also be a result.
