Fundación Oír es Vivir, with the dedicated support of the Panama D1 Lions Club, conducted our first hearing health tour in the Panama Norte region, successfully serving 182 children. This mission reaffirmed the critical importance of early detection through the following findings:
- Detection: 9.9% of the children were referred to a second phase after not passing the initial screenings.
- Hygiene: 25.3% presented obstructions due to earwax or foreign objects, highlighting an urgent need for ear hygiene education.
- Efficiency: We achieved a high-impact pace, attending to an average of 36 children per hour.
From the total group, the 18 children who did not pass the initial phase have been scheduled at our clinic for a comprehensive audiological evaluation (Phase Two). Those confirmed with hearing loss will receive the necessary treatment and solutions in Phase Three.
Join us for our next tour in June! Your support is vital to continue reaching underserved communities and transforming the future of more Panamanian children. We are counting on you!

At the begining of this new year we proudly can share the following achieves:
- In 2025, we made 4 Tours Conducted in diferent points of Panama: Colón (Puerto Escondido), Darién (Metetí), Capira (Claras Arriba), and Panama City (Gonzalillo).
- In total were 537 Children Benefited: Providing comprehensive hearing healthcare to minors aged 0 to 17.
In Clinical Follow-up we had:
- Diagnostic Phase: We successfully transported children who required repeat testing to our clinic in Panama City to rule out conditions following initial screenings.
- Final Diagnosis: From the four hearing health tours conducted, 12 children were identified as needing hearing aids.
FOV has mobilized local efforts to acquire and deliver these 12 hearing aids to the diagnosed children, with the dedicated support of our Vice President, Dr. Orlando Sousa, and our President, Giovanna Troncoso.
Thanks to your contributions, we are transforming the future of Panamanian children through the gift of hearing!

During 2025, the Oir es Vivir Foundation has successfully conducted three major hearing health tours, extending our work to various communities. We have treated 320 children in Claras Arriba de Capira, Puerto Escondido in Colón and the province of Darién, demonstrating our commitment to hearing health at a national level.
Thanks to the collaboration of our volunteers, otorhinolaryngologists, the support of our donors and private company, we have been able to detect eight children with confirmed hearing loss. With your donations, we have been able to give them hearing aids, transforming their lives. In addition, the identification of cases of cerumen and infections has served to raise awareness among parents about the importance of hearing care in their children, reaffirming the impact of our mission.
