This project will provide orphaned and vulnerable children in Johannesburg, South Africa who come to live at Hearts of Hope and often have poor or little dental hygiene, with sessions of dental treatment.
With 52 children living at Hearts of Hope at one time, there is a lot of teeth to be cleaning and looking after! Many of the children who are placed at the home have had very little dental hygiene. As a children's home, we are unable to get medical aid for the children, thus the cost of the dental treatment is large. This project will ensure that we are able to take children to good dentists and get the treatment that they need to grow healthy teeth.
Healthy teeth and gums will mean healthy children. The children will be provided with good dental treatment and taught correct dental hygiene from an early age.
The project will treat and educate over 40 children in a year at Hearts of Hope in dental hygiene and care.
