Challenge

Hanoi has 9 industrial zones with 144,428 workers and female workers account for 70%. Awareness and skills of workers, especially female workers in nutritional care, mental health and prevention of depression in pregnancy and postpartum, and reproductive health have been very limited. The consequences are: reduced health, sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, depression, etc. Meanwhile, businesses, the media, other related agencies and community have not been aware of the problem

Solution

We provide communications activities and IEC materials to raise awareness and practice among workers on nutritional care, mental health and reproductive health care. Workers can be consulted/guided by experienced professionals if needed. Especially, female workers will receive free health screening once a year. In addition, we also establish and build capacity for the core group as the champions of the project; and involve 05 major media agencies as influencers.
