During the last quarter of 2023, the Project within Hogar Bambi Venezuela has made significant progress in its mission to provide medical care, medications, and vaccines to 120 children in vulnerable situations. Thanks to the invaluable support of donors and healthcare specialists, the comprehensive care of children has been prioritized, strengthening their well-being and safety.
Regular medical care has been ensured for all children, including consultations, treatment follow-ups, and the provision of medications according to each child's individual needs.
Activities have been carried out to improve the emotional, educational, and recreational well-being of the children, creating a safe and nurturing environment for their development.
Psychological and emotional support is provided to each child, offering them the best tools to promote their mental well-being.
Physiotherapy sessions with our professional staff favor their neuronal development, allowing our babies to overcome hypotonia, rigidity, or low motor development.
Thanks to the support received, the organization can rely on the best professionals and materials, fulfilling its mission to provide a safe and loving environment for each child in a vulnerable situation. The generosity of donors makes it possible for each child to receive the comprehensive care they deserve.
Hogar Bambi Venezuela sincerely thanks all those who are part of this important work!
Within the context of health promotion and disease prevention in children and adolescents of Hogar Bambi Venezuela, with the support of different specialists (pediatrician, dermatologist, gastroenterologist, orthopedic surgeon, and general surgeons) we developed a campaign called “Jornada de Medicina amor Venezuela” (Medicine Day love Venezuela) where the doctors performed the necessary medical checkup to the children at the institution.
They performed healthy child consultation and specialized follow up consultations to those children who had any disease and were under medical treatment. Also, lab tests for follow up, and the immunizations for children were reinforced with the vaccines suggested by the Venezuelan Society of Pediatrics and Childcare and also those in the National Immunizations System, achieving 2 to 3 vaccines for the children during the year according to the immunogens. Additionally, the health staff attending babies was vaccinated against pertussis and influenza virus in order to minimize the risks.
As the closing balance of the year 2019, we achieve an improvement in the medical supplies requested/received to attend the children’s diseases, and in this way, we could maintain the good health in the houses.
For all of the above, we reaffirm our gratitude for all the support received that contributes to the wellbeing of the 120 children and adolescents sheltered at Hogar Bambi Venezuela.
Continuing with the actions aimed to promote health, in partnership with another organization, we developed a dental screening day, to prevent and to attend the appearance of cavity and other oral diseases (gingivitis, infections, bleedings, halitosis, and others) among the children protected at Hogar Bambi, benefiting a total of 80 children and adolescents. Also, the medical team of the institution conducted preventive medical consultations of healthy children, maintaining the monitoring of cases and lab studies of the new children and of those children that have presented health problems. In the same way, the pediatrics department carried out the evaluations and the certifications of healthy children, required by the schools for the next academic year 2019-2020. At this time, medical attention is offered to a total of 94 children, tracking new incomes to improve their health because of the difficult health situation in which they come to the institution like malnutrition, lack of prenatal care and of vaccines. From Hogar Bambi, we confirm our gratitude for the contributions received through GlobalGiving and we hope we can continue counting on them so we can be able to offer timely and quality medical attention to the kids.
