Between April 12th and 23rd, 2026, Campaign 52 marked a significant milestone in restoring dignity and health to women across Kenya. During this intensive camp, our medical team successfully carried out 209 procedures and treatments, addressing a wide range of conditions, including fistula repairs, pelvic floor disorders, gynecological conditions such as fibroids and ovarian cysts, as well as colorectal and general surgical cases. Each procedure represented not just medical care, but a second chance, especially for women living with untreated fistula, who often endure isolation and stigma. One patient shared how she had lived in discomfort and silence for years, and after receiving treatment, expressed renewed hope and confidence to reintegrate into her community.
In addition to the surgical camp, our outreach efforts between January and March 2026 reached a remarkable scale. We vaccinated 998 girls against HPV across 16 schools in Uasin Gishu and surrounding regions, including Kidiwa Primary, Huruma Primary, Kapkoros Primary, and Joyland Peace Academy. These school-based programs combined vaccination with education, empowering young girls with knowledge about cervical cancer prevention and breaking long-standing myths around reproductive health.
Our broader community outreach also achieved substantial impact, with 1,644 women screened across multiple regions, including Moisbridge, Kakamega County (531 women), Baringo County (916 women), Eldoret Township, and Chebororwa. Through these outreaches, we provided cervical cancer screening, identified untreated fistula cases for referral, and delivered vital health education. These efforts have led to early detection of cervical abnormalities, increased awareness, and improved access to life-saving care in underserved rural communities.
As we continue this journey, our focus remains on reaching more women in need, strengthening follow-up care, and expanding access to both preventive and surgical services. Every screening, vaccination, and procedure brings us closer to restoring dignity, health, and hope for the women we serve.
