New youth leaders trained, caring for more trees

Dear supporters,

On this season of giving thanks, we couldn't be more grateful for our donors. In the past couple months, we have been working hard to have more young people involved and trained, and to care for more trees.

Thanks to your generosity we were able to add a fall session of our LEAD Courses. Eight young people were trained on environmental leadership and walked away with skills for life. The classes focused on personal, people, and management skills, along with a day-long Youth Planting Supervision class.

The young people will have opportunities in the coming months to use their newly acquired skills with Tree Musketeers during our many volunteer events, but also as some of them might be soon joining our Youth Management Team (YMT), which is in charge of overseeing the daily operations of Tree Musketeers: a great way for the new graduates to be environmental leaders!

On the tree side of our project, we had a fabulous time taking care of hundreds of trees during a special event organized on Make a Difference Day. Close to 200 volunteers, supervized by our Youth Planting Supervisors, spent a morning picking up weeds and trash (1.2 tons were removed from the median!!), leaving a fertile environment for our Trees to the Sea on Imperial Highway. We hope you enjoy the pictures!

We hope you continue to be inspired to support our Growing Young Leaders & Trees project. Thank you again!
