A Children's and Adolescents' Forum was held at the Remansito community center under the slogan: "Let's take care of our minds, our community, and our planet." During the meeting, participants discussed essential topics such as mental health, community safety, and environmental stewardship.
The event was attended by local authorities, including the city mayor and the education supervisor.
One of the highlights was the signing of a letter of commitment by the authorities in response to the proposals made by children and adolescents. Among the agreed-upon priorities were the promotion of environmental education programs in schools through talks, workshops, and projects, as well as the strengthening of youth groups to confront climate change and protect their territories.
Regarding mental health, the need for trained professionals to provide emotional support and the implementation of emotional health training in educational institutions was raised. In addition, a greater preventive presence of the National Police was requested to ensure safe environments, and a proposal was made to facilitate access to rehabilitation centers for people with addictions.
The forum reaffirmed the importance of creating spaces where the voices of children and adolescents are heard, valued, and considered in decision-making.
