We have built a Community Centre in the deprived area of Remansito to provide children in the area, and their families, with access to nutritional supplements, healthcare, educational support, and much more. We currently do not have the resources to reach all of the children in the area, and want to maintain these services to combat malnutrition, school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, unemployment, drug addictions and violence.
There are currently thousands of children living in the area of Remansito, which is a town of scarce resources in an area vulnerable to flooding. We are proud of the work that we are doing to help 1300 children and their families to improve their lives, however we would like to reach up to 2000 children and beyond, in order to extend the reach of the work that we are doing. At the moment, we do not have the financial resources to extend our reach, which is why we need help to achieve this goal.
Through basic actions such as improving and increasing the supply of food and strengthening healthcare, we can continue to assist those children that come to the Community Centre. By caring for their health, and any necessary school support they need, we help prevent them from dropping out of school. We can also continue incorporating new children and their families to this program with greater financial resources.
In the short term we will take care of the nutritional needs of children who are currently attending to the Center, and reduce the rates of school dropouts. We can also increase the number of children we reach from 1300 to 2000. Will will also provide training on nutrition, prevention of teenage pregnancy and drug addiction, and psychological assistance to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Improving the lives of the children strengthens the family nucleus long term.
