This project is part of Alkhidmat’s ongoing commitment to improving water security in remote and underserved mountainous communities through sustainable and long-term solutions.

Story / Update

In the hilly terrain of Jhelum Valley, access to clean drinking water has long been a daily struggle. Families—particularly women and children—were forced to travel long distances over difficult terrain to collect water from unsafe sources, exposing them to health risks and consuming valuable time.

To address this challenge, Alkhidmat Foundation implemented a Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme, utilizing natural elevation to transport water from a clean source to the community without the need for electricity or fuel. The project included the installation of durable pipelines, construction of a water storage tank, and establishment of community distribution points.

With the completion of this project, residents of Village Dharian now have consistent access to safe drinking water close to their homes. The availability of clean water has already begun improving hygiene, reducing waterborne diseases, and easing the daily burden on families.

Community members expressed deep gratitude for this life-changing intervention, which will continue to benefit the village for many years to come.

This initiative is part of Alkhidmat’s nationwide effort to expand clean water accessibility in remote and underserved communities. Through various water projects, Alkhidmat continues to uplift vulnerable families and improve community health.

Story / Update

In the mountainous region of Athmuqam, accessing clean and safe drinking water has long been a challenge. Women and children often had to walk long distances on steep terrain to fetch water from unsafe sources. This not only affected their health but also their education and daily livelihood.

To address this persistent issue, Alkhidmat Foundation implemented a Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme, using natural slopes to deliver water from an elevated spring directly to community households—without requiring electricity, fuel, or machinery.

The project included:
