Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme Completed in GB

By Muhammad Imad Ud Din | Project Leader

Title: Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme Completed in Gilgit-Baltistan

Summary

Alkhidmat Foundation has successfully completed a Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), providing reliable access to clean drinking water for 130 families in the region.

Story / Update

Access to clean and safe drinking water remains a serious challenge in many remote mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. Families often travel long distances to collect water, exposing them to health risks and daily hardships.

To address this critical need, Alkhidmat Foundation completed a Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme aimed at ensuring sustainable and easy access to clean water for local communities. The project uses a gravity-based system to transport water from natural sources to the community, providing an efficient and environmentally friendly solution.

Through this initiative, 130 families now have access to safe drinking water close to their homes. The project is expected to improve health conditions, reduce waterborne diseases, and ease the burden on women and children who are typically responsible for water collection.

This water scheme represents another important step toward improving living conditions and supporting sustainable community development in underserved areas of Pakistan.
