Dear GGG supporter!
as you know, our center has opened. We have been running our classes for a couple of months now and it has not been easy...
We have struggled getting the girls to the class. Most girls can't afford to even transport themselves over to the office. The transport that we organise for the girls that really live too far is getting more and more expensive due to the increased petrol prices. But also the parents sometime stop the girls from coming because they don't see the use or because they have to work for them. Lastly, the teacher having to work with a whiteboard in stead of a projector with the laptops has been a challenge for him.
But the good news is, we are getting better and better! We have girls who are just happy with touching a laptop, let alone using one. And it is helping them with their IT classes in school or is inspiring them to want to go back to school. In the end, that is what it is all about. The classes will improve, so will the planning and the attendance. We are just proud that is there and that it is helping.
We will continue to look for help as we improve our curriculum and organisation and we hope you will continue to support us. Follow us on Facebook for weekly updates on our work on https:www.facebook.com/gogirlghana.
Many thanks,
team GGG
