Sanctuaries of the Earth Mother continues to grow and expand through educational efforts and events in the virtual realm - and now in the physical realm as well!
We have created many circles in the Colorado Front Range area. Circles on nature and environment, climate change, animals, spirituality, water, and energy work as well as drum circles for community engagement and fun are now operating and growing. Some of these events and teaching circles are taped and shared around the world. Others are presented as one of our two weekly radio shows. The circles here in Colorado are drawing everyone from children to seniors, so the inter-generational sharing has been amazing. More people enter the groups each time we schedule a meeting. Board members Rod Feigle and Sue and Jim Graywolf Petruzzi have led this growth, with others assisting.
With the extreme weather in Colorado this year the rivers are again rising rapidly, so water educational remains a key element of what we share - especially with the young. This weekend, June 13-14, Sue Graywolf will be sharing information at a community-wide event attended by thousands.
We have added a Wolf Pack in Fort Collins in collaboration with WildEarth Guardians. We educate about wolves and other large predators, dispel wolf myths, provide programs and share how predators are critical to a healthy environment.
Jim Petruzzi recently attended a Climate Change Reality conference and training for Sanctuaries. He is now a certified presenter on climate change - the facts, realities and changes needed. Radio shows have been aired on the topic and presentations are in the works.
This past week, June 6, Sue Graywolf led a drum circle on the banks of the swollen Poudre River, which a large number of people attended - again children to seniors. River education was presented and then a fun, engaging drum circle provided for all. This was also taped and is being offered on the internet to all our groups.
A few months ago Jim and Sue Graywolf presented at a conference along with Sharon Bar Or who attended via electronics and big screens. The presentation on people coming together, finding their connections and making a difference in the world and its’ environment was well received and is still available via Sanctuaries and on the conference website. It has received many hits - people watching it - many more than almost all presentations at this conference.
It is the number of people following and listening and speaking - and sharing what we present - that tells us how effective we are being. And we feel this is VERY effective. We will continue to build on this growth for the good of all, especially the seven generations who will follow us.
