Global River Project for the Children Report 3
By Jim Petruzzi | President, Sanctuaries of the Earth Mother
Jim and Sue Petruzzi attended the River Cean Up and River Fest Celebration Saturday, 5/9 as part of this project. Having managed ro only collect 20% of the funds needed, they played a much smaller role as Sanctuaries of the Earth Mother than hoped for. Yet the board of SOTEM has decided to continue with the ptoject. We will continue to arrempt to raise the additional funds the project requires and implement a further clean up and teaching elements in the fall of this year. SOTEM will plan and conduct this on their own, but will invote all interested parties or groups to join us.
We thank all donors to date and respectfully ask anyone interested in teaching the young about our waters and cleaning a river severaly affected by the floods of 2013 to donate what you are able.
Many thanks,
Jim Petruzzi
President

Three people have stepped up with a great deal of volunteer time to move Sanctuaries of the Earth Mother - and this project - forward.
Vicki Ainsworth has added video webinars and video streaming to the SOTEM communications package, allowing more internal fundraising and organziation and Global River Project promotion.
Sharon Bar Or has become an expert in producing short and medium length teaching and inspirational videa, which are shared across the social media.
Sue Petruzzi, a funding member, has been leading multiple drum circles and teaching circles locally in the Rocky Mountain area.
In adition, elders willing to come and be part of the teaching on the event weekend have been identified and contacted. Funding for their travel and housing will determine if they can be part of the event. If not, local elders have been found. The diversity of some national and international elders is the venue we still hope to enact.
Two additional radio shows and a multi-level radio network have been added to our communications venue. Sharon Bar Or and Jim Petruzzi host Healing Mirror Holders and Sue Petruzzi and Vicki Ainsworth host the Women's Healing Hour. The project will now we highlighted on these shows.

Sanctuaries of the Earth Mother is preparing radio shows and guests to highlight the River Project - especially the river clean-up since the floods this fall have devasted so many lives and such a large portion of the river. The project will be held and promoted on Global Giving and thru the virtual media that Sanctuaries is so connected to until the $20,000 goal is reached.
The devastation of the floods caused the board of Sanctuaries to help people displaced, especially since the president and vice-president were air lifted to safety four days after the floods, allowing them to understand first hand the impact of this event on lives and the land. Elders who speak at the river clean-up weekend will be teaching about the elements and how they have affected lives for generations, but how man's impact on the environment have heighted these impacts. They will be sharing the eays their ancestors worked with the planet and offering ways we can not work again with the planet in a more sustainable way.
Two new members have joined the Sanctuaries team and will be assisting with this project. Vicki Ainsworth, from Great Britain, has taken on the Communications Coordinator and is planned the media portions of the project. She has a great deal of experience in communications, especially video and radio production and promotion. Webinars around water and rivers are now also being planned. The other person, Adriana Greco is a 19 year old energy worker from Fort Collins, which will be the focal point of the project. She is helping bring other young people to the project who will work with the younger children on the event days.
