YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

By Josephine Rodgers | Executive Director

Dear Champions of Access Agriculture campaign “Give wings to women entrepreneurs in rural India”,

Wishing you a wonderful New Year!

Our deepest gratitude to you for choosing to support our campaign to help young women in rural India to become successful agri-entrepreneurs.

Thanks to your continued support, two women-led teams (SUSAG Millet Farmer Producer Company and SABALA) have been actively involved in training their communities to take up organic farming after being inspired by Access Agriculture videos.

The SUSAG team, commonly known as ‘Millet Sisters,’participated in the Millet Biodiversity Festival in Paderu, Alluri Sitarama Raju District in Andhra Pradesh State, India, in preparation for the 2023 International Year of Millets. In addition to field demonstration and exhibition, the festival showcased 32 millet recipes. In another event, they collaborated with farmers to prepare indigenous biofertiliser, as shown in the Access Agriculture video Organic biofertiliser in liquid and solid form. The successful preparation of the biofertiliser was documented to show to other farmers.

The SABALA team, collaborated with Inspiiro School in Andhra Pradesh, to help village schoolchildren learn about natural farming practices.

We are incredibly grateful to you for making a difference in the lives of these two women-led teams. We will continue to seek support from our generous donors to provide similar support to the remaining four women-led teams.

Thank you
