Give Water Save Life

During the period under review, the Give Water Save Life Project was able to conduct the following activities and recorded progress.

Activities and Progress

1. Assessment and Planning: Conducted a thorough assessment of the water needs in various communities within Gusau. Identified the most vulnerable areas where access to clean water was critically low.
2. Community Engagement: Held meetings with local leaders and community members to understand their specific needs and to foster community involvement in the project.
3. Training and Capacity Building: Trained community members on the maintenance of the water systems and the importance of water hygiene and sanitation practices.

Impact and Outcomes

• Health Improvements: Initial reports indicate a significant reduction in waterborne diseases among the communities benefiting from the project.
• Community Empowerment: The training programs have empowered local communities to manage and maintain their water resources, ensuring sustainability.

• Boreholes: To be Install deep boreholes in key locations to provide a consistent and safe water supply.
• Water Purification Systems: Introduce purification systems to ensure the water from existing sources is safe for consumption.
• Rainwater Harvesting: Implement rainwater harvesting systems to supplement water supply during the rainy season.
4. Training and Capacity Building: Trained community members on the maintenance of the new water systems and the importance of water hygiene and sanitation practices.
5. Monitoring and Evaluation: Established a monitoring system to regularly check the quality and availability of water in the newly developed sources.
