Veronika is a twelve-year-old girl from the Chernihiv region of Ukraine whose childhood was shattered by war. One day, Russian shells struck her home: a fragment tore away her arm, and her sister was killed right before her eyes. In a single moment, her world changed forever. And yet, Veronika refuses to give up. She keeps studying, she draws with her left hand, she smiles through the pain, and she dares to dream. Her biggest dream is a bionic arm - a hand that can hold a pencil, create her draw
Because of the amputation, Veronika lost the ability to do the simplest but most important things for a child: writing in her notebook, drawing her favorite pictures, holding toys, or hugging her loved ones. Every day is a struggle with the limitations left behind by the war. For a 12-year-old girl, this means not only physical challenges but also a test of her faith in herself, in her ability to grow, and in her right to have a full childhood.
We are raising funds for a modern bionic prosthesis for Veronika. This is a high-tech device that allows her to move her fingers, hold objects, brush her hair, write, and, most importantly, hug. Veronika has already proven she is ready: she has learned to use even a cosmetic prosthesis, takes it on and off by herself, and strives for more. A bionic arm will open the path to a full and independent life.
This prosthesis will give Veronika not only physical abilities but also faith in herself and in people. She will once again be able to draw, study, play with her little brother, and dream about the future. Veronika will become a symbol of strength and resilience for other children affected by the war. This is an investment not only in the health of one girl but also in an entire generation growing up in war - a generation that deserves a full and meaningful life.
