Please follow our progress and share in the joy of giving.
Once this report has been published we will merge this project with our primary GlobalGiving project as this will very much reflect our ‘family of families’ approach; and those we support feel a part of something we all share in together. So, please take a moment to look at our website and we’ll keep you informed of progress.
In sharing our abundance, we can give life to others.
Our newest sponsor (who is sponsoring a young girl for her education) responded with an inspirational email after we sent her first receipt:
“I feel very blessed that I’m in a position to support Sharaksha with her education. I can remember being a year 11 and 12 student only a few years ago myself, I was given an education by my family which is an opportunity not everyone is fortunate enough to have. I’m very glad that I can help another young woman receive the education that she deserves.”
What a wonderful outlook for a better tomorrow, when the next generation are sharing their abundance with those in need!
IGWR-Nepal is successful at making a real difference!
Although we have not secured additional sponsors for this project, we have been delighted by the generosity of a sponsor who has underwritten the expenses for this family over the past couple of years.
The goal of $118,842 does however remain as this a long-term commitment to support a special needs family with two girls that will life-time care.
What we can certainly celebrate is the success that this project model represents; and it is a model that we now seek to carry through into new projects that give single mums the support they need for their children to have the opportunity of going to school.
The eldest daughter in our “Family Home” has got a scholarship to pursue her higher education in Korea, this is wonderful news as she now moves toward independence and an opportunity to follow her dreams and also support her family back home.
It will of course leave mum alone in looking after the two special needs girls, but mum has the ongoing support of IGWR-Nepal, a family that knows it takes a village to bring up a child.
Little by Little we will make a BIG difference.
We will be part of the GlobalGiving Little X Little campaign starting on September 18th and this is an opportunity for us to receive a 50% bonus on all small donations, it also reflects our own ideology, that together we bring about change.
Our ‘Family Home’ in Nepal is a long-term commitment that gives life and a home to mum and two special needs girls.
And a simple sum shows how, together, we could secure this wonderful initiative:
Just $5 a week
from about forty sponsors
would cover all the expenses for this ‘family’
We create a better tomorrow.
An investment in ‘others’ is an investment in our future, for we are all in this together.
Every gift makes a difference, and IGWR Inc. has no overhead costs so 99.52% of all monies goes directly toward helping this family in Nepal. We are a fully audited charity and all gifts in Australia are Tax deductible.
IGWR Compliance and Transparency.
We are committed to ensuring that we achieve real outcomes with the funds that are entrusted to IGWR, and we strive to set a standard of practice that will ensure that we operate with a ‘best practice’ set of standards. We have our policies and practices available on our website, and are happy to receive questions, comments and suggestions from supporters that can assist us in making improvements.
Thank you for everything

Although the project statistics show that we have only raised $113 of our $118,841 goal, we have been delighted by the generosity of a sponsor who has underwritten the expenses for this family over the past couple of years.

I’ve seen firsthand the changes that this family has experienced as reflected in Raja’s words “Believe me, the change you have brought in those four girls is incredible and unimaginable. The mother is looking after the girls very well; in return, the girls are looking after their mother. An outstanding outcome for the mother, as previously she was only able to see the girls for a few hours each week due to heavy work commitments that she needed to support her girls.”
It is an inspiration to know that we can all make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves, and when we pool our resources, we can truly make a big difference.

The reality of giving life to others, is an amazing way of us finding our own true sense of ‘life’. The delight we have in seeing that we can change the world is an empowering inspiration that gives us hope for a better tomorrow for all peoples.

It is so inspiring to make a real difference!
As we start a new year we tend to think of new beginnings and new initiatives called ‘resolutions’; we also look back to the year just past and give thanks for whatever stood out in 2022.
Our ‘family/foster’ home in Nepal is a shining example of an initiative that serves as a working example of what more we can achieve together.
Some insight to the project can be appreciated in this recent email exchange:
From Raja (in Nepal) to Sponsors (in Australia)
I would like to thank you both for supporting our first ‘Family Home’ for the last eighteen months.
Believe me, the change you have brought in those four girls is incredible and unimaginable. The mother is looking after the girls very well; in return, the girls are looking after their mother.
An outstanding outcome for the mother, is that previously she was only able to see the girls for a few hours each week since she had work commitments; Sharda said she “never experienced motherhood” as she was seeing herself as a defending wall that’s only job was to feed well the girls and look after their small needs.
Now, since she got a chance to be a full-time mother, she has realized the new definition of being a mother.
For us, she is an amazing mother, caretaker, and an amazing woman. We see every day how she looks after the girls, the house, and even herself. The credit goes to you two beautiful friends.
Since you have committed to this project for 2 years, we now have 6 months left. We now need to focus on finding support for this beautiful project for at least the next 2 years.
From Sponsors (in Australia) to Raja (in Nepal)
Hi Raja,
We are pleased to let you know that we can commit to continuing our contribution to the family home for a further two years until June 2025. We hope this provides some certainty for the girls.
We probably will not be able to make any firm commitment beyond June 2025. We will be retired by then and we don't really know how much money we will have. It would be great if some other people could share this great work with us, but we don't really have anyone to suggest right now. Hopefully we will find someone to help soon.

From Raja (in Nepal) to Sponsors (in Australia)
If Angels have face, that will be you two.
Now this is called a good beginning of the new year.
You both must try to visit this year.
Thank you Thank you for this. You have relived us.
Moments that create life.
Entering my seventy-first ‘New Year’ I fully appreciate that my life is shaped by moments.
The kiss shared with my first love in the gentle snowfall on the night before Christmas, over fifty years ago. Laying my head on the shoulder of friend in my later years and remembering how to cry. Exchanging a blessing with a fourteen-year-old boy just before he was carried back to his village to die at home.
It is not what we achieve, nor what we possess that really gives us life, rather it is those few intimate moments of ‘giving and receiving’ that hold us in the eternity of love.
And, seeking, creating, and being in, these moments is what living is all about.
A new Year’s resolution.

We are making a real difference!
This project has inspired us to look creating more “Family Homes” in which we can support single mums and their kids.
It is such a hard life for mothers who have lost their husbands, as they have to work long hours (usually in labouring jobs) to support their children, and the kids have no family time with their mothers.
This initial project is amazing, a mother with two daughters, one a special needs girl, had to place one girl in a care home in order to work long hours to support the two girls. Now, she has become a foster mum to another special needs girl and we support mum and all three girls so that they have a real ‘family home’ to enjoy.
Australia is a ‘lucky country’.
Let us all rejoice,
For we have wealth and gifts to share
Our world is full of potential, and Life is good
So good we even have time to complain.
When we share what we have with those who ‘have not’ we do create a better tomorrow, we bring light into dark places, and we make the world a better place. When we share, and give of ourselves, we realise that it is ‘luck’ to be the ones that can make life better for all.
A lifetime to be realised.
This initiative, and those we are now considering is an ongoing commitment.
And it only requires forty sponsors giving $6.25/week to secure this family home that makes a difference for Sharda, Samikshya, Sadiksha and Reecha.

We’ve just got back from Nepal.
For the first time since the Covid pandemic, five members of our Australian committee made a self-funded visit to Nepal in order to audit and assess our projects and review outcomes and potential future initiatives.
Our hearts are full! We are so thankful that what we are doing, what we’re doing together as sponsors and donors is truly life changing. To the kids in Nepal we are a ‘blessing’; and to us they are a blessing that gives real value to our lives.
Those of us in the world’s richest 10% are best placed to change the world and make a real difference.
And, once again, it only requires forty sponsors giving $6.25/week to secure this family home that makes a difference for Sharda, Samikshya, Sadiksha and Reecha.
We have a proven track record of over twelve years and have supported well over 150 children and families by giving kids access to education that they could not have achieved without help.
This new initiative is a long-term commitment and for Nepal a new model in caring for disabled kids. We replace an institutional model with a caring family, that is truly a win-win for all concerned, but we need long-term committed support.
We have been very fortunate to have the first part of this project underwritten by a generous donor, however we must build a long term commitment as these special girls will need life-long care.
If you can, please join us and make a difference.

What a wonderful way to make a difference!
This project is outstanding and has changed the lives of the two special needs girls and their family. Recently two friends of IGWR visited Nepal from Australia and saw first-hand the difference we have already made.
They also took with them a wheelchair that now gives Reecha more mobility and an opportunity for the family to be out and about together.
We can give life to others, by sharing what we have.
The eldest sister shared an insight into how things have changed for the better;
“our recent condition has changed a lot because we used to reside in a single room including my uncle (the two disabled girls were in a hostel for disabled children). We only had two sleeping beds, one kitchen rack and a drawer in our room. We used to sleep in the same room and it used to be quite difficult in summer. We used to cook, sleep, eat, everything in the same room. So it was a bit congested.”
Two girls with special needs no longer live in an institutional home, rather they are looked after by an amazing mother and an older sister in a home that we have supported with generous gifts from people who want to make a difference in the world and create a better future for all of us.
Now we need to secure an ongoing commitment.
This initiative provides a model that has very much changed our perspective on providing meaningful aid. We are also supporting over twenty single mums and their children to ensure that the kids can receive an education and the mother has time to be a mother, rather than labouring long hours leaving their children unattended.
BUT…. These are long term commitments, and to continue this life changing work we are seeking more ‘sponsors’ who can give regularly so that we can meet our commitments.
Every gift makes a difference, and IGWR Inc. has no overhead costs so 99.52% of all monies goes directly toward helping these kids in Nepal. We are a fully audited charity and all gifts in Australia are Tax deductible.

We have included a link to a short video that follows the delivery of Reecha’s wheelchair, she is delighted; and that delight is shared by all who have made this possible.
Please consider being part of this ‘family’, and share whatever you can so that together we can continue to bring life to those in need, and create a better life for them, and so to for us.
We have been very fortunate to have the first part of this project underwritten by a generous donor, however we must build a long term commitment as these special girls will need life-long care.
