The End of a great journey; the start of a legacy

By Marie-Eve Lemieux | Director

December 2014 marks the end of our wonderful and successfull project that we called: Mobile Basketball.

At the end of this project:

- three communities of Ghana were empowered to teach life skills through Basketball

- one Basketball Court was built, and two others were renovated

- over 100 at-risk children learned the game of Basketball

- 12 balls, 30 jerseys and many pairs of shoes were donate

- 15 coaches and referees were trained

We could not thank you enough for your support!

We wish that you appreciated our updates and that you will keep donating to our other projects!

At the moment, we are raising funds to build the first Basketball Court and Community Center in Jamestown, the poorest community of Accra. Here is a little more information about this project.

SUMMARY

DUNK is planning the construction of a Sport and Development Center in Jamestown, another deprived and marginalized communities DUNK works in in which children lack supervision, guidance and opportunities.

It is said that 70% of the Jamestown population work in the informal sector, mostly as traders. Quite often, children have to work as street hawkers or porters to help support the family. Also, illiteracy is a major setback for the development of the community.

With this initiative of building a Basketball Court and a Community Center, DUNK wishes to enlighten the future of the children of Jamestown, a very vibrant community!

You can donate to this project any time from now!

Thank you dear supporters!
